Yulin is not short of good goods. Spices trade over 35 billion yuan a year. Yuchai's brand is worth over 110 billion. Fumian denim has 3,000-plus players with over 95% local supply; a pair of jeans runs from yarn to finished product entirely in town. But outside, when people hear "star anise" they say "Guangxi," and "engine" they say "Guangxi," not "Yulin." What sits between is a signboard.
1. Good goods and being remembered are two things
In 2025 Yulin's industrial output above scale grew 14%, first in the region; park output grew 21.8%, also first; foreign trade grew 67%, again first. Goods ship, firms grow. Yet outside, Yulin's industries are still at "heard of," not "ask for by name."
Beiliu ceramics, Bobai woven goods, Luchuan woks, Rongxian pomelo, Yulin three-yellow chicken, all are export-grade "Made in Yulin." What they lack is not quality but a chance to be seen outside.
2. The station is the cheapest city signboard
CCTV prime time costs hundreds of thousands for 30 seconds; a feed post sinks the next day; an outdoor billboard ties you to a yearly contract. One light box at Yulin North passes returning Yulin merchants, investors scouting the city, and transit businessmen daily. A national-infrastructure setting lends more trust than a feed ad by a full notch.
Yulin is Guangxi's largest qiaoxiang, with over two million overseas kin. Every year many Yulin merchants travel back and forth; the station is the first place they see "Made in Yulin" at home.
3. Three types of firms should hang one
Firms chasing returning Yulin merchants and investment. The city's "Yulin merchant return" program has drawn 778 return projects worth 140.5 billion yuan and brought back 94,900 workers. A government, a park, or a lead firm hanging one at the station tells returnees: the hometown industry is up, come back and build.
Firms going global or building a brand. Spices, denim, ceramics, woven goods, origin is trust. Hengzhou jasmine, Yulin spices on the wall, a buyer steps off and sees "source," trust delivered on the spot.
Firms hiring. We covered recruitment placement in a separate piece; one line here: the station is a natural gate for returning labor, Yulin North hit 54,000 in a single Spring-Festival day.
4. Three stations, three industry roles
Yulin North is the gateway, heavy with business and investors; lead firms and parks hang LED for face and a light box facing the exit to say "I represent Yulin." Xingye South serves county industry; calcium and health-food firms stake an "industry leader" claim there. Hengzhou is the jasmine-tea belt and buyer corridor; a light box with one origin line fits best.
5. Do not wait for the opening
The Yu-Cen section opens end of 2026, the full line in 2027, daily volume to 15,000-20,000. Hang now, you pay on 5,000-6,000 volume and grab the spot first. After opening, good spots fill and unit rates rise. Lianping's three-station bundle (HG2026-FW112) holds 97 light boxes, 152 sqm LED, 14 machines, package cheaper than single buys by 20-30%.
6. Do not print a factory name and a big poster
The most wasteful case: spend tens of thousands on a screen, the creative is one line of factory name and a phone. Outsiders glance and forget. One claim plus one visual. "Yulin spices: one in three nationwide passes through here" beats "honest business, top quality" ten times over.
For Yulin's industry belt to go out, first let the returnees, the visitors, the passers-by know you are here. One light box is not pricey, but it is the first name card "Made in Yulin" hands the outside world.
